How To Solve The Heating Problem Of Servo Motor

As an actuator of mechanical equipment, fanuc servo motor has been widely used in servo system. When we use the servo driver, because we don't know much about its structure and principle, we will find that there is a large heating phenomenon when the fanuc spindle motor works. Is the phenomenon of motor heating normal? In fact, motor heating is a common phenomenon, but too high temperature indicates that the siemens gear motor is abnormal. So how can we reduce the heating of the motor and maintain a constant normal working temperature?


There are three main reasons for the heating of the servo motor during operation: the torque output by the servo motor is smaller than the torque required for load operation, or the servo motor drives the load very hard, resulting in the heating of the servo motor. The running frequency of the servo motor is very low, resulting in insufficient heat dissipation capacity of the servo motor. At this time, the motor will also heat up. The output waveform quality of servo driver is poor, and harmonics will lead to heating of siemens servo motor.


How To Solve The Heating Problem Of Servo Motor


The maximum temperature of the motor during operation usually depends on the insulation level inside the fanuc linear motor. Generally, the insulation performance of the motor will be damaged only at a high temperature of 130℃. When the temperature inside the motor is lower than 130℃, the motor will not be damaged. At this time, the temperature of the motor surface is usually below 90℃. Therefore, the surface temperature of the motor is normal at 70℃ to 80℃.


If you want to simply measure the temperature for the siemens ac servo motor, you can touch the motor shell with your finger. If you can put your finger on the motor housing for 1 to 2 seconds, the motor temperature does not exceed 60℃. If the finger feels pain at the moment of touching the motor, it indicates that the motor temperature is 70℃ to 80℃. A few drops of water can be dropped on the motor housing. If the water vaporizes rapidly, the motor temperature is above 90℃. The above methods can only lead to the judgment of the motor temperature. If you want to accurately measure the motor temperature, you can use a professional temperature measuring gun.


Although heat dissipation is not the most important standard to judge motor performance, it should be regarded as a part of the overall mechanical structure. The heating of mechanical structure will lead to thermal expansion, resulting in some process problems. Insufficient heat dissipation will affect the performance and service life of the siemens brushless motor.


Servo Motor


For low power servo motors, when the heat dissipation capacity of the housing itself is sufficient, there is no need to install a special cooling fan to dissipate heat. For high power motor, its current is very large. If it is often used, it will lead to that the heat can not be transmitted to the surface of the mitsubishi dc servo motor in time through conduction and distributed to the surrounding medium through convection and other methods. The temperature of the internal winding of the motor will continue to rise, resulting in the motor can not work normally or even burn out. In this case, the cooling fan needs to be installed.
