The Omron 3G3MX2-AB004-E is a compact MX2 series variable frequency drive (VFD) for 200–240 V single-phase input, delivering up to 0.4 kW (heavy duty) or 0.55 kW (normal duty) motor power output. It supports open-loop V/f and open-loop vector control, enabling strong low-speed torque, smooth acceleration and deceleration, and stable speed regulation for conveyors, packaging machines, mixers, fans, and pumps. With an output frequency range typically from 0.1 to 400 Hz (up to about 580–1000 Hz depending on version), it can also be used in higher‑speed applications where extended frequency is required.

The 3G3MX2-AB004-E includes the core MX2 protection set—overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage, overload, overtemperature, short‑circuit, and brown‑out protection—to help safeguard both the drive and motor and minimize downtime. Adjustable acceleration and deceleration times from 0.01 to 3600 seconds, along with flexible S‑curve profiles, allow users to match motor behavior to machine mechanics, reducing shock and extending equipment life. A built‑in PID controller and simple sequence/logic functions enable basic process control and interlocking without requiring a separate PLC in simple systems.

For integration, the drive offers multiple digital and analog I/O points and supports control via keypad, operator panel, or PC software. Standard communication includes Modbus RTU over RS‑485 and USB, with optional fieldbus cards for EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, PROFIBUS, CompoNet, and MECHATROLINK II to fit into a wide range of automation networks. The compact IP20 enclosure with screw terminal connections, 68 mm width, and low weight makes it easy to mount in tight panels for OEM and retrofit projects.
